The main language will be English, but it will also be possible to ask questions in German.
Schools are a topic that can cause passionate debate amongst teachers, parents and schoolchildren alike. But often very little is known about the school systems in other countries.
And this is the starting point for the next event in our series of Anglo-German meetings comparing life in Dortmund and in Dortmund’s twin city Leeds.
We will be looking at questions like: Are the schools structured in the same way? Do parents, teachers and schoolchildren have a positive view of education in their area? What striking differences, if any, are there?
The Dortmund Heisenberg-Gymnasium had an excellent opportunity to find out answers to these questions when they visited their partner school in Leeds a few weeks ago. And so we have invited two of the teachers who accompanied the children on their trip to Leeds to talk about their and their pupils’ experience of school life in a Leeds High School.
There will be ample opportunity to ask questions and discuss the various issues together with Dortmund friends in Leeds who will be taking part online.
