‘My Europe’ is an interactive digital series of events that invites its guests to discover Europe.
How does it work? It’s simple: We talk to young people from various countries about Europe and their personal topics of interest. The topics are as diverse as the speakers and can range from current political and social developments through culture and science to one’s own commitment to greater tolerance or solidarity. In addition to the given topic, all participants can also vote live on other topics and ask questions on the evening itself.
On 12th November, Noël Vinther will take the audience on a virtual journey to Denmark. Noël Vinther was born in a small city in the southern part of Jutland in Denmark.Naturally born curious, she’s always loved being creative and learning new things. She’s always been good with kids, so after graduating high school, she studied a bachelor’s degree at UC SYD to become a teacher. After her graduation in 2022, she went to a folk high school, or a højskole, as you call it in Danish. Here, she studied Japanese and Japanese culture, martial arts, arts and crafts and many other things chosen by herself, all while living at the school with all her fellow students, who soon became some of her closest friends. This semester brought her a lot of joy and was in many ways sort of life changing for her.
On november 12th, Noël will teach you about the Danish højskole tradition, its history and uniqueness, as well as all the other practical aspects you’d might like to know if you’re considering staying at a højskole for a semester yourself.
